Pete and Jackie Mundy

Pete and Jackie Mundy Pete and Jackie Mundy's dedication to the greater Boothbay Region community is evident through their tireless volunteer work and leadership. They became involved with the Boothbay Region YMCA shortly after retiring to the community in 1986. Over the last three decades, the Mundys have valued the Y as a central focal point for people of all ages in the community. Jackie says, "If we didn't have the Y, I don't know what this community would do." The Y provides connections for kids in the community to be safe and productive after school and in the summers, as well as diverse activities and opportunities for adults and seniors.

For the Mundys, philanthropy is a way of life. They believe that the Y is crucial for this community to thrive, and that when you support the Y, you are supporting the community. Joining the YMCA's Heritage Association was a natural decision for the Mundys. "We've been blessed, and we believe in giving back," they say. "We want the Y to be here for future generations."
